I am excited to announce that I have accepted a new job. After 13 1/2 years at Key Technology, I have decided to switch gears and move to Zeal. My last day at Key will be October 31, 2014 and I’ll start at Zeal on November 3, 2014. That’s right, a whole weekend of funemployment!

Zeal is a web application development shop, which is a new area for me after so long in the industrial automation space. I’m looking forward to learning all the things.

They’re also local to me, so I will be back working in an office with other people instead of remotely from my home. That will be an interesting transition.

The blogging and conference speaking I’ve been doing for the past couple of years is part of my new job description, so expect that to continue. The topic focus on this blog will likely change as I learn new things, but I’ll do my best to keep it interesting and informative.

I will no longer be doing Smalltalk as part of my day job, but I intend to continue maintaining my open source Smalltalk projects for the forseeable future.

I want to publicly thank Key Technology, my boss, and my co-workers for the many wonderful years. I learned a ton and was given many opportunities to grow and develop. For that, I am truly thankful.
